Hamster psychology!

After Eddie coming home from being sterilized i tried to put him and Marsha together but, they just attacked each other immediately so i have had them in separate cages ever since and I'm not liking the whole idea. So i have devised a plan that might actually work, i hope!!

THE PLAN:
I have taken one of the balls that i bought for the hamsters and put it in Marsha's cage then attached it to the pipes leading from Eddie's cage. Eddie can now go into the ball and be "IN" Marsha's cage, without being attacked.
Marsha can once again get used to Eddie's scent in her cage and hopefully when i put then together again they wont fight.

I think i have kept them apart for too long and just need to reintroduce them, which i HOPE i can do because hamsters don't like hamsters they are not familiar with.

What happened when the plan was all ready to go:

As soon as Eddie made his way into the ball Marsha came to look at what this new object was. As soon they picked up each others scent they attacked each other though the ball and to their surprise they couldn't do much attacking.

Eddie has now made a home in the ball but it still looks like they want to fight so i will just leave Eddie in the ball for another little while and then i will attempt to put them together again.

Heres some more pics of my ingenious plan:

An Idea

Wow what a week!! Its been busy busy busy.
I have done alot of thinking this week about all sorts of things, transport to work and back, studies, starting a business, starting a charity foundation. I think its time I start putting my thoughts into action.....just not 100% sure how, it might have to be a learning curve for me.
Let me tell you more about my charity foundation. It would be called "TEACH A MAN TO FISH" and basically what i want to do is to take street kids and get them rehabilitated from drugs and psychologically, so that they can become accustomed to a "new" way of life. Then I want to get them into school again but most importantly also to teach them how they can become entrepreneurs themselves (teach them to "fish"). The way I see it is there are two types of street kids, the ones who had opportunities(whether its living in a shack and being able to go to school or living in a decent environment) but are too lazy to do do anything and the ones who where born and raised on the street, after a while living on the street becomes a way of life and being moved to a new and better way of life just doesn't work for them, for them its not normal to live in these better conditions, and thats why so many street kids return to the streets. Now i haven't done any research on this matter so i don't know how accurate everything is but its the way i see it!! Anyway i don't just want a place where street kids can just eat and sleep like many of the homeless shelters, i want it to be more! Not sure what the more completely entails but i will figure it out. All i need to do is get INSIDE their heads and fix them. :)
Will keep you updated on my Ideas and progress about "TEACH A MAN TO FISH Foundation".

PS: Have a great weekend!

Welcome home Eddie

I finally got to fetch Eddie yesterday from the vet.
He went in on Tuesday so that he could be sterilised. I can see the confused look on your face....."why would you want to sterilise your hamster?" is probably what you're thinking, right.
Well i have a perfectly reasonable explanation for my decision to have my little Eddie sterilised. I want to put Eddie and Marsha in the same cage again but without having to worry about the baby issue, and they were starting to look very depressed in separate cages. Anyway, i took Mr. Eddie to go get sterilised and even the vet thought i was crazy but understood my reasoning. Poor Eddie was so drugged up last night, he fell all over the place, BUT this morning he looks much better. Just another 2 days in his own cage to recover then i can reunite the two little hamsterats! :)

Fitting on Dresses...soo much FUN!!

AS you know (or if you dont know), i got engaged christmas eve last year which was so amazing and came as a huge surprise. I will have to update my blog to give you the lowdown on my fiance, George, and myself (and everything that has been happening since my last post .......which was ages ago). So this weekend we went to fit on a few wedding dresses, we went to Bride & Co in Rivonia and i was really impressed with the service they gave us. I was a bit bummed out about the fact that they didnt have my size dress but i managed to get an idea of what i like. I only took photo's of the 2 that i really liked, so here they are. Cant wait to go fit on some more dresses, its fun!! I havent done much hectic planning for my wedding yet as we have not yet decided on a day but its probably only gonna be in the next 2 or 3 years from now (HAVE ALOT OF SAVING TO DO FIRST). Anyway, i am going to try my best to keep my blog updated from now on.
